Who these are between
These terms are between you and B-KODA LTD, the company registered in Nigeria that makes ansa. Registration number: RC 9939431. Based in Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. By making an account, opening a business, placing an order, sending something with ansa Delivery or riding with ansa, you agree to them. Nigerian law applies. To confirm
How we use information about you is explained in the privacy notice. It is there to tell you what we do; it is not something you agree to.
Your rights under Nigerian law come first. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under Nigerian consumer law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, or under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. If anything here seems to, the law wins.
For everyone
- You must be 18 or older. To confirm
- Give true details, and keep your password to yourself.
- Do not use ansa to break the law, to mislead people, or to harm others.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.
If you sell on ansa Business
What ansa is, and is not
ansa gives you a place to keep your products, record your sales, send invoices, take orders and get paid. You are the seller. ansa is not a party to the sale between you and your customer, and does not own, hold or deliver your goods. When a customer pays through ansa, the payment is taken by Bachs and ansa acts as your limited payment collection agent: a customer who has paid through ansa has paid you. Your share is held with Bachs, not in ansa's own bank account, until it is yours to withdraw. To confirm
What it costs
- Sales you record yourself (cash, a transfer to your own account, your own POS): free. ansa takes nothing.
- Sales paid through ansa (the shop, an order link, or the Pay button on an invoice): ansa keeps 2.5% of the price of the items, and never more than ₦5,000 on one order. A made-to-order job paid as a deposit and a balance counts as one order. The delivery fee is all yours. The cost of taking the payment comes out of ansa's part, so your customer pays the price you set and nothing more. To confirm
- The fee can change. We will tell you in the app at least 30 days before a fee goes up or a new fee starts, and sales already made keep the fee they were made at. A fee that goes down can change straight away. To confirm
When the money is yours
Your share of a sale paid through ansa becomes available 3 days after the customer pays. Until then ansa holds it, so that a problem with the order can be put right. To confirm
When a sale looks wrong
If we have good reason to think a payment or a sale is not genuine (for example a stolen card, a buyer who says they never ordered, or goods that were never sent), we may hold that sale's money for longer than 3 days while we look into it. We will tell you which sale and why, unless the law or the police stop us. A hold lasts no more than 30 days, unless a court, the police, a regulator or the payment company requires longer. Then the money is released to you, or returned to the buyer if the sale was not genuine. To confirm
Withdrawing
- You can ask to withdraw what is available to the bank account you gave us. The smallest withdrawal is ₦1,000.
- The bank transfer costs ₦50, taken from the amount you withdraw. You see what will arrive before you confirm.
- For now a person at ansa makes each transfer by hand. We do not promise a time. To confirm
- Check your account details carefully. Money sent to an account you gave us wrongly may not be recoverable.
Refunds
- Refunds on sales paid through ansa go through ansa. You ask for one from the order's page; nothing is refunded by itself.
- A refund is shared the way the sale was: the customer gets the full amount back, your share of it comes off your balance, and ansa gives back its fee on it.
- If you have already withdrawn the money, your balance goes below zero and you owe ansa that amount. Your next sales pay it down before anything else. To confirm
- For a sale you recorded yourself, any refund is between you and your customer.
What you may not sell or show
These rules keep your customers and you safe. They apply to everything you list, show, sell or send with ansa.
Never allowed:
- Medicines that need a prescription, including codeine cough syrups and tramadol.
- Illegal drugs, such as cannabis (igbo), and anything sold for getting high.
- Guns, ammunition, explosives and fireworks, and knives or anything else sold as a weapon.
- Anything stolen, or that you have no right to sell.
- Fakes passed off as the real thing, and pirated copies of films, music, software, games or books.
- Photos or descriptions you copied from someone else without permission.
- Anything misleading about what the customer will receive.
- Protected wild animals or parts of them, such as ivory, pangolin scales and leopard skins.
- Sexual services or sexual content, and anything sexual involving a child.
- Identity documents, SIM cards, bank accounts or BVNs; other people's personal details, such as lists of phone numbers; and hacked or borrowed accounts.
- Gambling, lotteries, investment or “double your money” schemes, loans, and other money services that need a licence.
- Anything that stirs up hatred or violence, or that Nigerian law bans from sale.
Allowed only with the right papers, and with care:
- Food, drinks, cosmetics, medicines sold without a prescription, herbal remedies, supplements, medical devices, chemicals, and bottled or sachet water: only with the NAFDAC registration the law requires for that product, and labelled as the law requires.
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and nicotine products: only to people aged 18 or over.
- Pets and other live animals: healthy, lawfully kept, and handed over safely. They cannot be sent with ansa Delivery.
You are responsible for any licence or registration your product needs. We may ask to see it, and hide the product until you show it. To confirm
Your content
Your photos, descriptions and business details remain yours. You give ansa permission to show them on the shop and in links you share, for as long as your business is open. Only upload what you own or have permission to use.
Improved photos. Clean up tidies a photo's background and light without redrawing the product. Beautify uses AI to redraw the photo from your real product, and ansa marks it “AI-improved” wherever a buyer sees it. Either way the improved photo is yours too, your original is kept, and you are responsible for it: check that it still shows what your customer will actually receive, and do not use it if it does not. A customer who receives something that looks different from your photo keeps every right the law gives them, whatever the label says. To confirm
Your customers' details
When you type in a customer's details (for a sale, an invoice or a delivery), you confirm that you are allowed to give them to us and that you will use them only to serve that customer. ansa stores them on your behalf and uses them only to run ansa for you: you decide why they are kept, and we keep them for you. In the law's words, you are the controller of those details and ansa is your processor. To confirm
Do not sell your customers' details, pass them on, or use them to send messages people did not ask for. If a customer asks you to remove their details, remove them, or ask us to help.
Closing
You can close a business or delete your account from the app once nothing is owed either way and no paid order is still open. Orders and records of money are kept, without names, after an account is deleted.
If you buy on the ansa shop
- You are buying from the business named on the page, not from ansa. The business is responsible for what it sells, and for getting it to you.
- The price shown is the price you pay. A delivery fee, where there is one, is shown before you pay. ansa adds nothing on top.
- Paying. Online payments are taken by Bachs. Your order is confirmed once the full amount has arrived. If you send less than the total, the order stays unconfirmed until it is sorted out.
- If something is wrong, message the business first: every order page has a WhatsApp button. If you paid through ansa and the business agrees to a refund, or does not put things right, ansa can send your money back. A refund returns the full amount you paid. To confirm
- Your rights as a buyer. Nigerian consumer law entitles you to goods that match their description and are fit for use, and to a remedy when they are not. These terms do not take that away. To confirm
- Your order link is private. Anyone who has it can see your order, so keep it to yourself.
- Invoices. If you pay an invoice by bank transfer, that money goes straight to the business and ansa cannot return it for you.
If you send or ride with ansa Delivery
ansa Delivery is still being tested. Fuller terms for it will be added here before it opens to everyone. To confirm
- Who carries it. ansa connects you with a delivery business or a rider. They carry your parcel and are responsible for it while they have it. ansa owns no bikes and employs no riders. To confirm
- What cannot be sent: cash, cheques or bank cards; guns, knives sold as weapons, or anything explosive; drugs, or medicine without its prescription; live animals; anything stolen or against the law. You confirm this each time you send.
- The price is shown before you send, with who pays it. Nothing is owed for a delivery cancelled before pickup.
- Lost or damaged parcels. What a delivery business or rider pays back for a parcel lost or damaged on the way is still being decided. To confirm
- Riders ride either for a delivery business, which is responsible for them, or on their own account. Either way they are independent, not ansa's employees. Carry no passengers, keep to the road rules where you ride, and take only jobs your vehicle can carry. To confirm
Reporting something
If a shop or product should not be here, or uses your photos or work without permission, use the Report link at the bottom of the shop or product page. We read every report, and the business is never told who reported it.
Copyright complaints
If you own the copyright in a photo, a piece of writing or another work, and something on ansa uses it without permission, send a notice to [email protected] with “Copyright” in the subject. For us to act, the notice needs:
- your name and how to reach you;
- the work you own, or whose owner you act for;
- the link to each listing or photo you say copies it;
- a statement that you believe, in good faith, that the use is not allowed by the owner or by the law;
- a statement that the notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner;
- your signature (typing your full name is enough).
What we do. When a notice is complete we take the listing or photo down within time limit to be confirmed, and tell the seller what was taken down and why, with a copy of the notice.
The seller's reply. A seller who believes it was taken down by mistake (because they own it, have permission, or the law allows the use) can reply to [email protected] with the same kind of details. We send the reply to the person who complained, and put the listing back after 10 working days unless they tell us they have gone to court. To confirm
Copying again and again. A business that has listings taken down for copying three times in 12 months has its shop closed. To confirm
Do not send a notice you know is false. It can harm an honest seller, and the law may hold you responsible.
When we may stop an account
We may hide a listing, take a shop down, or suspend an account (stop it being used for a time) if:
- it breaks these terms or the law;
- we have good reason to suspect fraud, or that people or their money are at risk;
- a court, the police or a regulator tells us to.
Where we can, we warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. We tell you what we did and why, unless the law stops us. To confirm
Your money. Money owed to you stays yours. While we look into a suspension, withdrawals may be paused for up to 30 days. After that we pay you what is yours, less refunds owed to your buyers and anything you owe ansa, unless a court, the police or a regulator requires us to keep holding it. To confirm
Asking us to look again. Reply to our message, or write to [email protected], within 30 days. A different person at ansa will look at it and answer within 14 days. You can still take the steps under If we disagree. To confirm
What ansa is responsible for
We work to keep ansa running and your records correct, but we do not promise it will never be down or never have a fault. ansa is not responsible for goods a business sells, or for a business or a customer not doing what they agreed with each other. To confirm
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as for death or injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. To confirm
Other companies' terms
Some parts of ansa work through other companies. When you use those parts, that company's own terms apply as well as these:
- Bachs takes online payments.
- Meta, when a business connects Instagram or Facebook, and for WhatsApp order updates.
- TikTok, when a business connects TikTok.
- Jumia, when a business connects its Jumia seller account.
- Google Maps shows the maps in the app. Using them means you also accept the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. On an iPhone some maps are Apple's. To confirm
We are not responsible for how those companies run their services, but we choose them with care, and the privacy notice says what we share with each.
If we disagree
1. Talk to us. Write to [email protected] and tell us what is wrong and what you would like. We aim to answer within 14 days. To confirm
2. Mediation. If that does not settle it, either of us may suggest mediation, where a neutral person helps us agree, for example at the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse or another mediation centre in Nigeria. It is voluntary, and each side pays its own costs and half the mediator's. To confirm
3. The courts. If we still disagree, the courts of Nigeria decide.
None of this stops you going to court at any time, complaining to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission about a consumer problem, or complaining to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission about your information.
A disagreement between a buyer and a business is theirs to settle first. For a sale paid through ansa, we can help (see Refunds).
Changes
When these terms change we change the date at the top. For a change that affects you, we tell you in the app, and by email where we have your address, at least 14 days before it takes effect; for a new fee or a fee that goes up, at least 30 days. A change the law requires, or one that stops harm to people, may take effect sooner. If you do not agree, you can stop using ansa and delete your account before the change; nothing you are owed is lost. To confirm
